The Obama Party

Obama has effectively created his own political party, in the words of others. His political machine will stay in effect as a $75 million operation in every Congressional district in swing states. This machine will coordinate with 20 somethings who have been on the payroll during his Presidential campaign and create a grassroots Obama Party network currently dubbed Obama v2.0. The network will put pressure on members of Congress to make certain that they tote the Obama Party line, even if it's unpopular in their district. It will also move to support candidates, create phone banks, and basically act like a psuedo-political party that may hurt local Democratic efforts. In effect, Obama is doing exactly what groups like MoveOn have wanted to do for year, co-opt the Democratic Party and make those who disagree with your liberal agenda fear for their support of their more conservative ideology. Watch out Kirstin Gillibrand and Kent Conrad, the Obama Party may be coming for you.

For the record, this is my 100th post on Old Line Elephant.
